This Biztalk Server 2013 Developers training course is a long standing favourite with JBI clients - delegates report that it "hits the spot" in terms of relevance to the real world scenarios they encounter in commercial environments.

At JBI you will be taught by consultants who use BizTalk day, in day out. Building on top of the standard Microsoft BizTalk Development course you will be given valuable insights into how best to use BizTalk and best practices to follow.

The course will look at Biztalk's core architecture, which is based on XML and the .NET Framework, WCF and Web services. You will alerted to areas which may cause issues in some scenarios.

At the end of the course not only will you understand how to use all the features but feel well equipped enough to embark upon your first integration solution using BizTalk Server.

JBI Training offers five courses in this group covering Microsoft BizTalk Server and Azure integration technologies. Available courses are BizTalk Server 2020 Development (five days), BizTalk Server 2020 Administration (three days), SOA Solutions with BizTalk Server (five days), Azure Logic Apps (four days), and Developing and Deploying Web Apps on Microsoft Azure (three days). All courses are available as scheduled classroom sessions in London, as live online instructor-led training, or as customised onsite programmes for integration and enterprise architecture teams.
Microsoft BizTalk Server is an enterprise integration platform used to connect and orchestrate business processes across disparate applications, systems, and trading partners — both within an organisation and externally. It handles message routing, transformation, protocol mediation, and business process orchestration, enabling organisations to integrate systems such as SAP, Oracle, legacy databases, EDI trading partners, and custom applications without building point-to-point integrations between each system. BizTalk Server has been the backbone of enterprise integration in large Microsoft-centric organisations for over two decades and continues to be actively maintained and used, particularly in sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and the public sector where complex system integration requirements and long-term investment cycles make migration to cloud alternatives a gradual process.
The BizTalk Server 2020 Development course is a comprehensive five-day programme for developers who design and build integration solutions using BizTalk Server. It covers the BizTalk architecture and development model, creating and deploying BizTalk applications, working with schemas and maps for message transformation, building orchestrations for business process automation, configuring send and receive ports and adapters, working with pipelines and pipeline components, implementing business rules using the Business Rules Engine, monitoring and troubleshooting BizTalk applications, and applying best practices for BizTalk solution design and deployment. It is suited to .NET developers and integration architects who are building or maintaining BizTalk-based integration solutions.
The BizTalk Server 2020 Administration course is a three-day programme for IT professionals responsible for deploying, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining BizTalk Server environments. It covers BizTalk Server installation and environment configuration, deploying and managing BizTalk applications, configuring hosts and host instances, monitoring message flows and health using the BizTalk Administration Console and BAM, managing suspended messages and error handling, backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and security configuration. It is suited to BizTalk administrators, infrastructure engineers, and operations teams responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of BizTalk integration environments in production.
The SOA Solutions with BizTalk Server course is a five-day programme covering service-oriented architecture (SOA) design and implementation using BizTalk Server as the integration backbone. It covers SOA principles and patterns, designing loosely coupled service-based integration architectures, exposing BizTalk orchestrations as web services, consuming external web services and WCF services from BizTalk, working with the BizTalk WCF adapters, implementing service versioning and governance, and designing scalable, maintainable SOA solutions. It is suited to integration architects, senior BizTalk developers, and solution architects who design enterprise integration architectures based on service-oriented principles.
Azure Logic Apps is Microsoft's cloud-based integration and workflow automation service — it is effectively Microsoft's strategic direction for enterprise integration in the cloud, serving a similar purpose to BizTalk Server but as a serverless, pay-per-use cloud service. Logic Apps connects applications, data, services, and systems using a visual designer and a library of hundreds of pre-built connectors — including connectors for Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, SQL Server, SharePoint, and many others. Many organisations with existing BizTalk Server investments are gradually migrating workloads to Azure Logic Apps as part of a broader cloud modernisation strategy. JBI's four-day Azure Logic Apps course covers the Logic Apps architecture, building and deploying workflows, using enterprise connectors, working with integration accounts for B2B scenarios, and comparing Logic Apps with BizTalk Server for migration planning.
The three-day Developing and Deploying Web Apps on Microsoft Azure course covers how to build, configure, and deploy web applications on the Azure platform. Topics include Azure App Service for hosting web applications and APIs, deploying applications using Azure DevOps pipelines and GitHub Actions, configuring custom domains, SSL, and scaling settings, integrating with Azure services such as Azure SQL, Azure Storage, and Azure Key Vault, implementing authentication and authorisation using Microsoft Entra ID, monitoring application performance with Azure Application Insights, and applying best practices for cloud-native web application deployment on Azure. It is suited to developers and DevOps engineers who are building or migrating web applications to Azure.
Yes. All five courses in this group can be delivered as customised onsite or online programmes for corporate integration and development teams. Content can be tailored to the organisation's existing BizTalk version, integration architecture, Azure adoption roadmap, and specific integration challenges — for example, a team planning a phased migration from BizTalk Server to Azure Logic Apps can receive training covering both platforms alongside migration strategy and planning. JBI has delivered BizTalk, Azure, and enterprise integration training for organisations including the BBC, NHS, RBS, Sky, EDF, and Capita, including teams managing complex legacy integration estates alongside modern cloud integration tooling.
