New Dev skills help improve Online engagement
When a leading High Street Retailer (and purveyor of fine foods) recognised that teams of software engineers were writing overcomplicated and non-standard code they recognised the training need for the teams to pull together in a standardised way. The software engineers themselves had considerable but varied experience in building applications for the web, desktop and mobile devices.
The training itself was attended by software engineers from various departments (including Dev Ops). Our trainer, a real evangelist for his technology areas, was praised for his “real life experience of the subject” and for “building a website to refer to with really cool examples”. If there is a gap between technology and design then this trainer with “great knowledge and structure” certainly helped to build bridges. We went on to cover Android Application Development for the “mobile team”.
Part of the program was to teach “unit testing”. This was crucial as it allowed them to do “test driven development” to prevent regressions.
